Common – “Black America Again” ft. Stevie Wonder

“I know that Black Lives Matter and they matter to us / these are the things we gotta discuss / the new plantation, mass incarceration”

To accompany his eleventh studio album, Common put out a new short film called “Black America Again.”

Executive produced by Ava Duvernay (director of Selma and 13th) and directed by Selma‘s lead cinematographer Bradford Young, the 21-minute clip shows Common rapping in the street with a man playing a djembe and pays tribute to Freddie Gray. Other highlights of the video include scenery of Chicago, a group of women participating in a ring shout and children learning in the park.
