This is pretty cool and different. Along with The Fader, Lil Yachty recently released a “docu-musical,” which shows Lil Boat’s rise to fame. The clip features a few reenactments as well as interviews with his mom, uncle Darnell Boat and go-to producers Burberry Perry and Earl.

As a bonus, Yachty performs two new songs, “So Many People” and “All In,” both from his new mixtape Summer Songs 2.

“I was probably the popularest kid on campus, but in the worst way,” Yachty said in the short film. “I was a laughingstock. I was a joke because of my hair. Being in college really let me know I don’t want to live a regular life. I want to be rich, I want to be a celebrity, I want to be famous. I want to have this hair and people don’t laugh, they get excited.”
